Fuck it, I’ve been towing (lol) the line of appropriateness by wearing thong heels to my office all summer. Corporate newsroom. No regrets. It’s called soft power, ask me how.
Fabulous piece! I had a pair of thong heels back in the 90s. They were white patent with a transparent orange thong and a kitten heel. I wore them everywhere! I went to London for a few days with my mother on our annual pilgrimage of going to shows, shopping and seeing the sights and I wore those babies day and night. I’d completely forgotten until I saw an old photo of myself from that trip wearing faded boot-cut hipster jeans (Lee, I think, I wore them until the literally disintegrated) and a green almost-baby T. And there were the thong kitten heels peeping out from under the frayed hem of my jeans. It was like seeing a long lost friend. I avidly read Vogue in those years so I can only imagine it was the inspiration. Happy, innocent days.
I get wearing flip-flops at home or at the beach, but seeing them worn on city streets kinda makes me wanna hurl. My hope is that the folks who wear this atrocities out on the dirty streets, scrub their feet when they get home at night--espesh before going to bed.
When i was 8, you couldn't tell me anything and there was a terrible drought that summer. Didn't matter, i rocked wedged thong heels from pay less that i begged my mom to let me have. As per my mum, i had to towel off the guts they second i walked in the door. So ready for this trend

Richard Tyler mention!
Wow he pops into my head every few years and I google him, but seems to be nothing?
I always found his clothes a bit boring but he was everywhere back then.
Hahah this was a good one! It’s true that shoes keep standing out in the 90’s
"Too much time broadcasting museum visits." :whispers: I thought it was just me

There's nothing more uncomfortable than a thong toe
