truly some of the greatest merchandise i have ever seen in one room. I didn't get the chance to thank you in person but I bought your nuovo top with the "o" cut outs -- particularly exciting as I have a new silver scorpion bellybutton piercing and I need more clothes that show it off ;)
wish it had been a bigger space but can image NYC real estate is kind of impossible. Maybe worth heading to Brooklyn?
I think a bigger space eventually! Hell, I think people would come if I was doing this in Paramus (no shade to Paramus...just the only city in New Jersey I can think of and have truly been to). Also hell yes to the belly button ring...I took my hoop out years ago and I miss it.
I hosted my own first closet sale last July, inviting friends, acquaintances, and local consignment shop owners. It was a resounding success, and a way to give back to people in my immediate circle. I will be doing another one in January, because everyone keeps asking me when I’m going to do it again.💕
I’d love to attend one of these really big sales but alas, my little city is too remote.
I love to hear this! I grew up going to group sales and flea markets and it becomes a family affair. Also, there will be ways to shop the big sales...stay tuned <3
Very cool that there will be ways for folks not there in person to participate, however, I really need to see things and touch them myself before purchasing.💕
some lady in my neighborhood is doing a closet sale this weekend and i'm very here for it/planning an outfit. so, its trickled down to us normies (though, perhaps always a thing in expat/military spouse world where you move every few years and possibly dont need the whole wardrobe in your next iteration)
It was so awesome meeting you! And you’re SO right, nothing can replace the magic of in person shopping and bartering. I can say that, even as an avid Ebay girlie, there will truly never be anything like the in person experience. The sale was such an experience, I loved getting to interact with fashion journalism legends and give their pieces new homes. As for your Richard Tyler corp bag and the Versace disco top…I may have snagged both of them🥰👜🎽
just as well I'm on the other end of the world from this, I'd have probably fainted on seeing Lynn and Chloë! (and boohoo for missing the livestream, perils of staying off instagram). That burgundy velvet (?) coat you're wearing in the pic with Lynn and Chloë is absolutely aces, between the colour and the wide lapel it feels almost like a portrait frame in clothing form.
I love shopping online when I can send my hyper-picky search strings into the internet aether and get back its best shot at what I want in <10 seconds, but irl just has that something else.
A lovely women in MN got the Comme coat...and just sent me pictures...it looks so damn fab...but also good for staying off of Instagram...I had like one braincell left after that week because I was just sitting on the app
You’re so good at hosting and making events happen! Now regretful for not keeping my pieces from the LA Imitation of Christ subway show. Held onto them for 20 years as good memories. Fashion regrets, we’ve all had a few…but, probably not those who scored at the sale!
More in-person everything, please! Loved finally meeting you, a beacon of fashion light even amidst the madness (and in the literal dark). Next time I’m going to try and get more styling advice from all the icons…
❤️❤️
