I first found Madonna through her Ray of Light era, specifically Frozen and Nothing Really Matters so for me, brunette Madonna was the OG Madonna and I shamelessly fangirled over the Nothing Really Matters kimono when it was on display at the V&A pre-pandemic.
Alessandra and Dani are truly internet-era archaeogists, there are so many pictures that'd be basically lost to the aether without them! You can really tell it's a project of love, and it's much appreciated for sure <3
I like that it is when she is brunette which is specific, of course, and more rare than when she is blonde...but I think it's an interesting study in how hair color changes our perception of ourselves and how other people view us.
