those Tory Burch flats are proof of what we all knew in the late 00s-early 2010s i.e. there is so much freak potential in a good won't-shock-your-granny shoe.

and yeah, Tiktok. I can't say I'm surprised lol people do get like that and context isn't always a strong suit. But Max's Doublet shibori hoodie is amazing, it looks like a wearable durian and I hope it goes to a home where it'll finally lose that #neverworn status! Looking forward to listening to the full audio of Emilia's episode too <3

i think the first time I was able to understand freak potential in a "classic" piece was with one of those classic Chanel bags...my boss at the time who had the most deliciously killer outfits...London'y vintage on top of vintage but then like a square toe Martine Rose sneaker...then the Chanel bag, although I think hers was either bubblegum pink or tweed but still I couldn't comprehend the combination without her...

oh yeah, a Chanel piece was my awakening to how versatile a 'classic' could be too, only it was a jacket and it wasn't on anyone I saw in person - it was that one Chanel 2003 pinstriped blazer on Kirsten Dunst that she wore with everything for about a decade, from the full 'LA boho+midcalf leggings+Converse' look that was a thing in the mid-00s, to a whole bunch of LBDs of varying lengths.

I'd get very Max-like on Salvatore Ferragamo Vara pumps if I had more money and more than one pair of feet, so I can certainly understand him that way!
