I think we still have a tee shirt stained. He was one of those one hit wonder hot models who did Versace, Hugo Boss, Dolce etc But he still gets stopped on ever single block as Johnny Depp.
You are not alone. I’m driven by the thought that it will wear out stain tear etc or shoes- I may not find as comfortable a pair. I’ve also berated myself for not getting a third when the item is easily damaged Silk, satin and at risk of no longer available
Lol I love this article. I also have super anxiety about ruining my cherished clothes, especially vintage, because I know I may never be able to replace it! And it used to really cause me to not wear those things often, but then I convinced myself that f*** it I really should wear them even if all that wear will eventually or more quickly ruin them, because in five years I may not even like the piece. The only times I have repeat bought something is because I changed my mind on the size (which I'm really picky about) after wearing and repurchased, which is such a headache because then I have to deal with reselling the first one. But maybe I should just think of them as back up pieces.
I have 2 pairs of Outlier Futureworks pants (the most versatile pants I've seen). You never know when they'll discontinue the best color then change the name to Futureslimworks (ugh) and then discontinue them altogether. Also 1 of them has multiple holes in the back pocket.
So glad to know I am not alone! I think my tendency is less constructive than yours because I don’t always wear out the dupes before I get tired or f the style.
I've occasionally bought the exact same pair of jeans in different sizes to accommodate weight fluctuations. I'd prefer not to do this, as it adds clutter, but I'm genuinely unsure which size to keep!
I've done this multiple times, none of them were anything fancy though - two rainbow-striped mock necks from Monki, two check shirts in a colour scheme I particularly liked, two grey mock necks from Uniqlo, two pairs of red Esprit shorts from the early 00s, two hand painted t shirts from some random art fair that were my 'at home' uniform from 2016 to 2019, two Star Wars movie t shirts. And I'm currently contemplating doing it yet again with my favourite 1980s silk blouse - which has developed a small rip in the armpit - now that I've found its twin on ebay.
That's without getting into the bought-in-different-colours stuff....but this is one of those things I refuse to feel guilty about, I'm prone to the Whatifisms too but it feels less like paranoia when they actually happen.
Oh dear the Fashion Cafe was my boyfriends first job. Love that jacket for you 👯♂️

I think in some instances...this might be ok! I think Vera Wang has 100 Rick Owens puffers...maybe we are doing ok.

I think as long as we are wearing it all? It's ok? Right?! Also I wear my clothes down to the thread...I've come to peace with my repeat-buy decision

Also 2 Chabad hats if you really wanted to know
